Heather BerthletteCEO, Tribal Councils Investment Group of Manitoba (TCIG)

    Heather Berthelette is the Chief Executive Officer of the Spirit Healthcare Group – a trio of companies that currently includes SpiritRx Services, SpiritRx Solutions and Spirit Healthcare Products. It is owned by the seven Tribal Councils of Manitoba.

    A forward-thinking and compassionate leader, Heather believes in giving back – persona Ily and professiona Ily – as both a fem ale role model and community member. Heather’s connection to her Metis roots provides her with a unique perspective on the Indigenous Peoples need for self-sufficiency and economic development, which fuels her purpose and desire to be part of an investment strategy with a community focus.

    As a result of Heather’s leadership and entrepreneurial style, the Spirit Healthcare Group embraces a business model known as lndigenomics, which is the practise of bringing an Indigenous perspective to economic and social development. The focus of the Spirit business model is to advance and equalize the economic playing field for Indigenous Peoples.

    In June of 2079, the Spirit Healthcare Group was honoured to receive an inaugural lndigenomics “70 to Watch” award from the lndigenomics Institute, a leading research, education, and engagement platform focused on growing Indigenous business success.

    By way of background, Heather attended the Asper School of Business, CGA program, at the University of Manitoba. With an extensive background in finance, operations, and strategic planning, she has held senior roles in operations, finance and strategic planning during a career that hasspanned diverse industries from wholesale to healthcare.
