Ricardo DiazSenior Corporate Supply Chain Manager, Seaspan Shipyards

    Ricardo Diaz is a Senior Corporate Supply Chain Manager at Seaspan Shipyards, one of Canada’s leading shipbuilding and marine services organizations. He leads strategic sourcing and complex contract negotiations across the enterprise, overseeing critical programs in shipbuilding, ship repair, and the Corporate Reform Program. Most recently, he has played a key role in procurement strategy by helping to establish Seaspan’s Indigenous Business Engagement Program. 

    Ricardo is deeply committed to advancing Indigenous economic participation through long-term partnerships, supplier collaboration, and responsible procurement practices. He is also the founder of Seaspan’s VAMOS Hispanic-Latino Employee Resource Group focused on promoting cultural awareness, strengthening community engagement, and supporting talent development across the organization. 

    Prior to joining Seaspan, Ricardo served as Procurement Director at STEMCELL Technologies and the Peak Group of Companies, where he supported large-scale manufacturing, life sciences, and retail supply chains across North America. Earlier in his career, he spent several years with Toyota Motor Corporation in Japan and Latin America, managing global sourcing programs for high-volume vehicle production and leading supplier development initiatives. 

    Ricardo holds an MBA from IESA and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Universidad Central de Venezuela, with his MBA credential assessed by the University of Toronto. Fluent in multiple languages including Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese and currently mastering Italian and French. Ricardo lives in Vancouver, British Columbia.
